Layla loves to push her Dora couch up next to our polka dot chair and throw a blanket over it. It is so cute to watch her struggle to get the blanket over the couch. She groans and grunts like crazy. Finally, she has to ask Gary or I for help. All set! Let the fun begin....ooops down the blanket goes and she has to start all over again. It's fun to watch Layla, but now we watch Hayden join in on the fun. At first LK was territorial...gosh...she doesn't share with her brother. She will share with her friends at a play date, but with HC...no way. It is so frustrating, but this time the kids played in the tent together. The two of them were hooting and hollering like mad. It was wonderful to see them getting along for once.
This sibling rivalry thing is crazy. I know it is normal, and they are young. Isn't it every parents dream for their kids to get along and be best buddies? I know we don't live in a perfect world, but I want to do my best to help them be close. I think I can show them how to love one another, and have a great bond. Some days I'm not sure how...BUT you know me, when I don't know what to do I read about it. It's my therapy. I'm gonna find myself a self help book...
maybe Siblings without Rivalry.
I did find this in THE most important self help book.
Train up a child
in the way he should go,
And when he is old
he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
I can't tell if they are laughing or crying, but I'd like to think playing in this silly tent will bring them closer :)
A mama can hope!

So cute! My kids are 3 years apart too and trust me, it will slowly get better and better with them playing together. They have their moments of constant fighting, but then have great moments. So i take each moment in stride. They were playing Ring Around the Rosie last night and it just about brought tears to my eyes. When he was a baby, I never thought they would play together with their age difference and gender. Thank goodness I was wrong! Hang in there...
