10 questions on Tuesday

I found these questions on Facebook a month or so ago.  I finally had time to sit down and answer and re post them!!  


1. What is one thing that you truly do just for you?

I enjoy relaxing and being pampered.  I usually get Starbucks, get my hair cut and highlighted and then afterwards I get a mani/pedi!  All by myself :)  It's time again for a day of pampering!!


2. What is the most expensive thing in your closet?

The most expensive thing in my closet would be my cowboy boots!  I love them and miss wearing them in the summer.  I should wear them with skirts right now, but that would be way too hot!


3. Are you where you want to be in your life?

I am totally where I want to be in my life!  I love my life!


4. If you could be on any reality TV show, which would it be?

I'd like to be on a Real Housewives show, but without so much drama.  I know I know that really isn't
possible with a group of women.


5. What dream are you working on right now?

I am saving my nickles and dimes so we can be financially successful.  When we retire I want to own a bed 'n breakfast.  It has been a lifelong dream!  I need money to make it happen.  We both love to entertain, and so with two kids off in college and no activities a bed n breakfast will be so fun!!




6. Best book you have read lately?

I am not a big book reader.  I just don't make the time to read.  But I am reading Siblings without Rivalry and I love it!  It is a wonderful parenting book for parents with more than one child.  It has made a difference in my parenting.


7. Most annoying habit of your mate? C’mon share…I’m sure they aren’t looking.

The most annoying thing Gary does is snore.  He doesn't snore all the time, but when he does it drives me nuts.  I try to nudge him, but he doesn't move.  If he is on his back I try to punch him to make him turn over on his stomach.  Anyway...sometimes I wake him up and he laughs at me asking why I am hitting him.  Ugghhh!  Then I punch him again...j/k! Good thing he doesn't snore all the time, he'd be bruised. Hey, I like my sleep!


8. What is your favorite thing to do on your birthday?

I love to travel to the Guadalupe river and float and relax with no kids.  I love my babies, but need to have adult time.  Every year sometime around my birthday Gary and I try to get away with good buddies and float!  So nice :)


9. What is the best idea for a Wedding gift?

The best idea for a wedding gift is a recipe book or recipe box.  I love all the recipes my friends and family have passed on to me.  Recipes remind me of places and times in the past.  I remember cooking certain things with my family and friends and will cherish those memories and keep them stored and written down.  And...it is a super personal and thoughtful gift!



10. What is one thing you look back on in your life and think “I can’t believe I survived that"


A few years ago Gary and I went through the hardest time ever!  We thought we were financially ruined!  We got ourselves into a business venture we couldn't recover from.  I was pregnant with Hayden and so emotional and hormonal.  OMG...it was horrible.  A few times during that time I was so scared.  It is the most humbling thing I have ever been through!  I thank God everyday for showing me the real meaning of life and family.  IT isn't about the car you drive or the house you live in.  IT is all about happiness and health.  We went through a terrible time but are soooo much better because of it!  A few times I wasn't sure if I would survive, but I did :)
