Guadalupe river trip 2010

I have been trying for two days to post this!!

I had to use my old browser to upload these pictures and then save it and edit it in Google chrome.

For some reason I can't upload pictures straight from Picasa like I usually do.  I have all my pictures in Picasa and when I click the upload button all my edited pics are right there waiting for me. Not lately.

Anyway....

we had a very fun time this past weekend floating the Guadalupe river!
we dropped our kids off at my parents and hit the road on Friday afternoon.
we stopped and picked up some buddies and crused on down to New Braunfels.

the scenery was as pretty as ever.
every time we visit south Texas i want to move there.
 it is so pretty.

This photo is of Gary heading back to the campsite after sticking his toe in the water.
He enjoyed a nice cup of coffee down at the rivers edge.

the water was so stinkin' cold.  it was crazy.  i felt like i was sitting in a glass of ice water.
and if you have been tubing before you know that the tubes are black...so when i touched my tube it burned me and then the water froze me!

we still had an amazing time.

i took a million really pretty pictures, but can't upload  them :(
I'm so sad.  But I am lucky to post these!

I also took a water proof camera and i still haven't gotten them developed yet.
I can't wait to see those of us in action on the river.  We had a hoot!
I will eventually post more pics :)

the people watching was so fun.  WOW!  we saw lots of interesting things.

after we got off the river we were heading in to the campsite and my friend Jenn twisted her ankle.  Bless her heart, she was a champ.  Her honey took her to the ER and luckily nothing was broken.  After a 4 hour wait in the ER he took her to the pharmacy to get her meds filled.  while getting into and out of the truck he accidentally closed her fingers in the door.  UGHHhh!

Seriously, you can't make this stuff up.

The next day on our way home we blew a tire on our travel trailer.
If you follow me on twitter you already know this.

If you have to blow a tire, a good ole country road is the perfect place to do it.

It could have been so much worse.

We could have
1.) wrecked when it blew
2.) blew it on the interstate highway, or
3.) had our children with us.

So if you are looking at the big picture we are glad it happened when it did.
Gary jumped right out and changed it really fast.  we could have been back on the road in 20 minutes, but
had we checked the spare tire we would have known that is was flat.

So after an hour of tire trouble we were back on the road again.

I should note that I didn't get a sunburn floating the river on Saturday, but almost did on Sunday sitting in a lawn chair on the side of the road looking across at this corn field.
Unfortunately we sat across from the only corn field not producing corn.

If it had I would have picked myself some yummy fresh corn.

But, I did score some yummy fresh green beans and okra from our buddies that live in NB.  {thanks y'all}

If I could I would have added a pic.  I have a ginourmous amount of fresh veggies.

 I am so happy :)

All in all it was a fun trip and I can't wait to do it again really soon!
