One of my most favorite bloggers, Kelli, {she is also one of my first blog friends} tagged me. Here is her post...Ask me a question, I'll give you an answer. I am a little slow, and do realize
she tagged me about 2 weeks ago. Ugghhh! I have been so busy :) Better late than never. So grab a snack b/c I wrote a book...ha!
The 8 Questions:
1. If you could live anywhere where would it be?
I think you all know exactly what I'm gonna say! Texas baby!! I love my state. I am so proud. I love my house. Eventually...I'd take a few acres, a house with a porch that wraps all the way around and lots of trees and plants. But really I am happy right here, and hope I can stay here in Texas forever. But if I do move away from Texas some day home would really just be where Gary and the kids are. They make me happy and that is where I want to live.
2. What is your ideal vacation?
My idea vacation would be going to the beach or the mountains with my family. Gary and the kids and a nanny. I want to enjoy the fun times with my babies, but also want to go out with Gary and eat nice dinners and do adult stuff at night. So, hello Florida Keys and Steamboat Springs. I love the beach and skiing, so I'd be happy at either place.
3. What is your favorite color?
I am a very fickle person. Sometimes I like purple, and sometimes I like royal blue. Sometimes I like black and brown. Right now my favorite color is brown. I'm in the fall, warm tones, autumn mood.
4. What are your favorite shows?
I like so many shows. It is really sad. We just got At&t U-verse on Monday and we are getting used to it. We can record up to 4 shows at a time. If that doesn't say couch potato...what does?
I love anything on The Food Network. I watch The Young and the Restless all the time. I record it everyday. Other than that all my shows are at night...Grey's, Private Practice, the new 90210, Desperate Housewives, Modern Family, Cougar Town, ParentHood, Man vs Food, Diners Drive Ins and Dives, Deadliest Catch. Taking a deep breath...and continuing...Dark Blue, Real Housewives of OC, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement, Friday Night Lights, Mercy, Biggest Loser, American Idol. And whatever new shows are coming out that Gary and I may want to watch. Oh Lord I am a couch potato for sure :)
5. What is your favorite recipe (and share if you'd like)?
I have so many recipes I'd love to share. There just isn't enough time in the day :) When I need a chocolate fix though, this is my go to recipe:
Mmmmm Brownies
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Grease an 8x8 inch square pan.
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not over bake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.
I found this recipe years ago from the website Allrecipes. I make it the same way every time...it will not disappoint!!
6. What is on your To Do list this week?
This week I don't have anything specific on the to to list. I usually throw a load of laundry in every day, so that is normal. I cleaned house on Thursday so I don't need to do that. Halloween costumes are bought and they fit, and all the fall decor is out. I guess the main thing I want to do is get some baking done. I want to make some pumpkin muffins. I also want to try to make candy corn cupcakes. I saw them on a blog earlier in the week. Other than that just sticking to my normal routine gets me through my to do's.
7. What are your kids going to be for Halloween?
Layla is going to be Cinderella and Hayden is going to be Buzz Lightyear. Disney loves us!
8. Who is your best friend and what is he/she like?
My best friend is my husband, Gary. He really is the one person I can turn to for anything. Isn't that what being married is all about? I may disappoint him from time to time and he might disappoint me, but through it all we are the best of friends. If I have a choice of things to do, I always want to include him because he is fun. He makes me laugh, he is so stinkin' funny. And I love him even more when he is being daddy to our children. He is a great father. I really feel so blessed to have him in my life.
And if you made it though now you know a little bit more about me. One thing I really like to do is read back though my blog. I love to look back to see what we were doing a year or so ago. Next year when I am reading this it will be fun to have the 8 things to reflect upon...to see if they have changed.
Thanks for tagging me Kelli :)
