Randomness for your Saturday

First off I want to send a big Thank You to Jenn @ Munchkin Land Designs for the fabulous new blog look I have!  I love it so much!!  I have a 'menu' bar at the top and now all you have to do if you are looking for a recipe is click on the word 'recipe.'  And you can learn about our family by clicking on 'about us'. And then if you are curious about me...well you get the idea!

Can you tell I am excited?

I am also feeling better.  Thanks for all the kind words, emails, face book messages and tweets!  It is crazy how people I haven't even met are so kind and offer such words of encouragement and some members of my family don't even call me.  Oh well...such is life!!  I am learning in my older age that I will never be able to make everyone happy!  So I am making myself happy :)  And all my friends make me happy.  That is the thing about friends...they are the family you chose for yourself.

I have been feeling icky since last weekend.  I am still not 100% but I am much better.  I had all kinds of sinus issues.  I am stubborn and wouldn't take medicine to get better...duhhh!  And I got worse.  Anyway, I took a ton of meds and dealt with the medicine head feeling and now hopefully in a few days I will be back to my normal chipper self.  Last week was a huge struggle.  It is so hard to be a mom, wife, housekeeper and cook when you are feeling so terrible.

Our neighborhood hosted their semi-annual garage sale this morning.  I was looking so forward to browsing the garage sales, but the kids had a different idea.  So, I am a bit bummed that I didn't get to find some fun stuff, but next time right?!  This afternoon when Hayden wakes up from his nap I am taking the kids to see Toy Story 3.  Layla has already seen it, but Hayden is on such a 'WoodyBuzz' kick...I think he will sit still to watch it.  It will be his first movie theatre experience.  He told me earlier he knows he has to be quiet.  He held his little finger to his mouth and said "SSsshhhh!!!"  I'll let y'all know how it goes.

I am hoping to get some fun pictures of the kids this weekend in their Halloween costumes.  I can't get Hayden to try his on....so this may be a tough task to conquer!  Layla will look adorable in her costume, so hopefully she will model for me.

And since I have felt crummy this post contains no pics...I know can you believe it?

Happy Saturday!

  2. I'm glad your feeling better....it's rough being sick when you have so much to do and little ones to take care of. I hope the movie went well, I can remember taking ours to the movies when they were little....lots of stories they will wish for us not to share :)

  3. I'm so glad you're feeling better. I have a hard time taking meds too at first so I understand. I hope Hayden had fun at the movie...Caleb loved it and sat through it pretty well. Hope you get your pictures! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  4. Glad you are feeling better. I didn't realize Toy Story was still playing. I had been feeling bad about not taking them. (I am lazy and I love Netflix!) I am still working on costumes. I am sure we will be waiting for them to show up in the mail on the 30th. Let's hope not...
