Today, Gary and I have been preparing our meal for tomorrow. Wednesday we are having his family over for our Thanksgiving dinner. I am so happy! I love to cook and entertain so Thanksgiving is so fun for me! I have found in years past it is too hard to do it all in one day. We did some preparation today and will finish up in the morning before we eat at noon!
Gary cooked the turkey all afternoon, and then I used the broth for my mother in laws cornbread dressing recipe. The dressing turned out so good! I can't wait to devour my meal tomorrow, and then do it all over again on Thursday at my family's celebration at my parents house.
Tomorrow we are having:
Roasted turkey
Cornbread dressing...my 1st favorite dish
Gravy
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole...my 2nd favorite dish
Corn casserole
Homemade rolls from the bread maker
Cranberries
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie
And of course no dinner would be complete without deviled eggs, olives and pickles!
I hope you all have a wonderful celebration. I know that many people don't eat what we eat for Thanksgiving. What is on your menu for Thanksgiving day?
And after two days with zero pictures, I promise to post with pics soon!!
My mouth is watering! It ALL sounds delicious! I was actually craving deviled eggs today! Have a wonderful feast with the family! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually glad there's no picture of the dressing because my mouth would be watering...YUM! I won't have any this Thanksgiving but I always make it for Christmas. It's funny because we used to always have a relish tray with my mom's family and my mom and cousin would fight over the olives :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
ReplyDeleteYum! You just made me very hungry. I'm not really a big fan of Thanksgiving. I'm just thankful for my surroundings, family, friends - but food - I'm not big on Turkey but I love ham. I love pies!! lol.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, Happy Holidays again!
Oh my word! Two thanksgiving meals? Yours sounds scrumptious! And cooking a turkey scares me more than I can even totally comprehend. I'll have yours please.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY want to come to your place to eat!
ReplyDeleteIs that okay?
So Cornbread dressing... that's like stuffing right??
I NEEEEED the recipe for that! Please & muchos thanks!!
Have a wonderful time entertaining!!
Sounds so very tasty. My parents make my Granny's cornbread dressing every year..and cook the turkey and there is a list of too many dishes to included. We have around 30 people so LOTS of yummy food. This year we are going to Lane's parent's for Thanksgiving, so I dont' know what all we are having-but I know it'll be good. I'm making pumpkin spice cheesecake brownies :) Have a slice of each pie for me.
ReplyDeleteYummo! We never have mashed potatoes, and I always want to but I don't think I would have room on my plate if we did:)
ReplyDeleteoh my...that all sounds so delish!!!
ReplyDeleteenjoy and eat some for me!!
