Did you know that cabin fever is a real word?

It is in the dictionary.  If you click over to dictionary {dot} com you can see for yourself.  But just in case you don't want to, I put the definition below....

cabin fever -- noun

Distress or anxiety caused by prolonged confinement in a small or remote place, as in We've been snowed in for a week and everyone has cabin fever . Originating in the West, this term at first alluded to being penned up in a remote cabin during a long winter but has since been applied more broadly. [Late 1800s]

After being cooped up in our house since Monday I felt the need to blog about our sickness.  I am in no way mad or upset about having to hang out with my family.  I love them all very much.  I also love to get out of the house with them very often.  I like to shop, eat in restaurants and explore the outdoors.  Due to the fact that our driveway is a solid sheet of ice, we haven't left our house.  Schools have been closed for 4 days...I'm sure that has never happened.

And I just got a tweet...from our local meteorologist.  We should get about 3 inches of snow tomorrow.

Joy!

The only good thing about all this business...I grocery shopped and we have plenty of food.  I didn't shop for the storm, I just bought all of our meals for the week.  So, all we are doing is eating and cooking and playing and eating some more.  What else is there to do??  Just to liven things up, we did order pizza tonight.  I ate 4 pieces. I think I have heartburn.

I am turning on my Thursday night TV shows is about 5 minutes.  Thank goodness they are on.  I have been looking forward to them all day!

  1. I totally feel your pain! I'm loving my time off work, but I'm not sure how many days I'll survive without EVER getting in my car! lol! Plus, I'm pretty sure I've gained 100 pounds from baking and eating! haha!

  2. Yes, cabin fever is never fun. We just went through this; between sick kids and snow days it was rough few days. Hopefully things will get better for us all soon.

  7. Yay for getting pizza delivered! I would hate to be stuck in the house...not like I run the roads all the time, but it is nice to at least have the option:) I hope the weather gets better soon!

  8. No snow for us :( Just a bunch of yucky ice. I would be going crazy too after four days stuck at home. It's one thing to CHOOSE to stay home, but another to be forced to be there with no reprieve.
