I have the Betty Crocker iPhone cookbook app. I love it because if I am in the store I can look up ingredients for recipes on my phone! While browsing the app I found this recipe.
They are so delicious and crispy! I can't stay away from the cookie jar.
I love using my melon baller to put cookies on the cookie sheet.
It helps me to keep the cookies the same size.
I also use my melon baller as an ice cream scoop. So many uses :)
See the perfect little balls of oatmeal chocolate chip goodness. MMmmmmm!
Here is how I made the cookies:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 sticks of butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
1 cup chopped slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter and brown sugar. Stir in vanilla and egg. Add oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix very well. Add chocolate chips and stir, and finally add optional almonds.
Drop rounded teaspoon fulls of the mix onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes or until brown. Cool on a wire rack.
Lock 'em up b/c they are delish! haha!
Just what I need on another wet morning here in Maine....these sound and look delicious!
