I like for everything to be symmetrical. In my own way it needs to be balanced. The pillows on the couch should be in the same spot on opposite sides of the couch. The mantle should be balanced. I appreciate the same concept in flower beds.
When I can't understand something and I am scrambling for advice or help I turn to reading. I love to read and I feel like reading can help me through anything. This can be in all aspects of life, parenting, cooking and even finding patience. In my older age I am reading the Bible more. I think it helps me feel better and I understand more now that I am more mature. Well, I think I'm more mature.
I wish I could clean a room at a time every day in my house. Does that make sense? But I can't. I feel like I need to clean the entire house on one day. Then I can sit down and enjoy it if it's all done and complete.
I can't stand it if there are numbers on my apps on my iPhone. If I had 3 missed calls or 41 emails, I'd flip out. I have to read the emails as they come and call people back as soon as I can. One time I read a group of text messages and forgot to respond to a few. I felt bad, but I had to read them to get the number off my home screen.
In the summertime I have to put 1 cube of ice in my glass of red wine. It is too hot in the summer to drink room temp wine.
One of the reasons I am looking forward to moving to Ohio is because I want a house with a porch. In a perfect world, my house would have a porch all the way around.
Enough of my random thoughts for the night....
Peace out!

Meet the teachers!
This morning Hayden got to meet his Pre-K teachers.
I really think he is ready to get busy and have fun at school. I am so excited for him. A week or so ago he wasn't really excited about the idea of starting school again. Once Layla started he seemed to be more interested. I think he wants to be like her!
His teachers are really sweet and I'm sure they will teach him all the things he needs to know before starting Kindergarten in one year! One year and he will be going to school 5 days a week like Layla.
*****
Layla had a great first day of school yesterday and a great second day today. I can tell her days are good because she is so tired at night. Gary has started his new job and he is liking it too. Tonight the kids and I went out to dinner because someone looked at our house! We went to eat a healthy dinner of cheeseburgers and blizzards from Dairy Queen. The kids thought it was the best treat! They hope our house shows every day so they can have ice cream. I hope so too!

First day of 2nd grade
Layla was excited and nervous when she woke up this morning.
I made her fresh strawberry muffins for breakfast. She took a few bites, but didn't eat much.
I know I'm just her Momma, but I think she is so adorable. She picked out this dress at Old Navy for back to school. Last night she said, "Mom is it too dressy for the first day?"
Um no!
Daisy seemed excited for Layla. She was jumping all over her when I was trying to take pictures!
Hayden was very excited for Layla too. After we dropped her off about 30 minutes had gone by and he was ready to go pick her up! He has checked the clock 5 times today waiting for it to be time to go get her. He really misses his best bud! They got really close this summer.
I could tell Layla was nervous. Bless her heart. I'm sure once she got there everything was great! I remember those first day stomach jitters.
I just had to post a picture of her Thirty-One book bag and lunch thermal. She designed them herself and she was so proud to show them off!
I hope she is having a great day. I can't wait to pick her up!

We're moving....
Yep, you read that right!
Our family is moving!
{whew, i'm so glad to get that off my chest. i feel like i've been hiding it from you.}
SEE---our house is for sale.
Our house has been on the market since August 2nd. We've had 1 showing.
Soooooo.....that is another blog post!
But we are so happy with our decision. It has been a long process of thinking and planning and praying. I am so glad I don't have to be secretive any longer. I can use this blog as the outlet it has always been for me.
We weren't sure for several months if this would work out or not. We weren't sure if this is what we wanted. BUT we now know what we want. This is what we are doing and we are more than thrilled! We can't wait to start our new adventure in
OHIO!!
We are moving to Ohio!
I can't believe I am saying this!!
Yes, yes I know...I am a Texas girl born and raised here in the Lone Star State.
I am on board with moving miles and miles away. I'm so excited and ready to move, but we really can't do too much until our house sells. The kids are both starting school here in Texas and we are getting into the back to school groove right here for now. Gary is already working for his new company, and he will be here and there and everywhere, back and forth, to and fro. We're good with this plan for a bit, but I know shortly the kids and I too will be ready to get acquainted with our new city!
This is excited and scary all at the same time. I'm a bundle of nerves half the time....
I'll keep you posted!

our last camping adventure of the summer
Last weekend we had our last camping trip of the summer. We went to Lake Whitney and met up with another family. They decided to take their boat and vacation at Lake Whitney which just happens to be one of our favorite lakes! We love this particular family because we all just click! I'm sure you know what I mean. Anyway, this post is packed with pictures!
This is our campsite. It was perfect. We had a nice breeze coming off the water. We could see our friends in their boat as soon as they pulled up to the dock.
Hayden and Layla usually explore and play while Gary and I set up the campsite. Gary does all the work outside the camper, and I do all the organizing on the inside of the camper.
Standing on the table is so inappropriate. sigh.
See the boat? Our friends are ready for us to play!
All the kids together splashing in the water.
Hayden and his best buddy Jake.
Layla and her best buddy Maya.
Ahhhh! It's boat time!
The kids ove jumping off the back of the boat and the adults love floating in the water watching our kids show off!
I love the lake and the big puffy clouds!
Hayden got so relaxed he fell asleep. He looks like a baby boy in this picture. He kills me. He was OUT like a light. Big boy was exhausted!
Becky and I decided to try out the Sting Ray. I'm so glad we did. IT was tons of fun and I laughed to hard the entire ride. It was an awesome time!
One of our favorite parts of the camping trip was seeing all the deer!
Daisy thinks she's a princess. Sometimes we have to hand feed her while we are camping.
Layla and Gary are the only ones that can get her to do her business. She won't potty for me while camping. Layla walked here several times a day on the road around our campsite. Like I said, she thinks she's a princess. If she gets grass burrs in her fur she bites them out and they stick to the fur around her mouth. It's too funny! She's a mess!
Hayden got a sticker in his foot, so dad to the rescue!
Hayden decided to go through the tackle box and the tool box. He's cranking on his foot. I just had to take a few pictures of him. He's a goof!
The munckins are ready to fish before the storm hits!
I loved watching the clouds and seeing the rain storms come in!
It rained all afternoon!
So we watched golf and the kids watched a movie in the camper.
Once it stopped raining we went to our friends campsite to do some fishing before dinner.
Hayden and Jake played with the remote control boat...
and Layla and Maya played with fishing worms!
Doin' a little fishin'!
Becky caught one!!!
Hayden rode the Sting Ray too!!!! I was so proud!
We had the best weekend away camping and fishing and swimming!
I am so thankful the kids enjoy camping, or at least act like they do! heehee! Gary and I love it! We will miss being able to sneak away for weekend camping trips in the fall. Once school starts that will be hard to do! School starts TUESDAY!
If you have reached it to the end of this post you are a rock-star. Whew, that was long.
Have a great Sunday!
